How to Create a Listing

Listing your fishing gear on Fish Flips takes just a few minutes. Follow these steps to create a listing that attracts buyers and sells quickly.

1. Start a New Listing

Click the Sell button in the top navigation or go to Listings → New Listing. You'll be taken to the listing creation form.

2. Add Photos

Upload up to 8 photos. Great photos are the single biggest factor in getting your item sold quickly.

• Use good lighting — natural daylight works best.
• Show the item from multiple angles.
• Photograph any scratches, wear, or damage honestly.
• Include accessories or extras in at least one shot.
• Your first photo becomes the cover image on search results.

3. Fill in the Details

• Title — Be specific. Include brand, model, and size (e.g. 'Shimano Stradic FL 2500 Spinning Reel').
• Category — Choose the most relevant category.
• Condition — Be honest. Accurate condition descriptions build trust.
• Price — Research similar sold listings to price competitively.
• Description — Describe the item's history, included accessories, and any flaws.
• Species Tags — Tag the fish species this gear is best suited for.

4. Dimensions & Weight (Optional)

Providing package dimensions and weight helps buyers estimate shipping costs accurately and can speed up the shipping label generation process.

5. Save as Draft or Publish

You can save a draft to finish later, or publish immediately to make your listing live. Once published, your listing appears in search results within seconds.

6. Managing Your Listing

From your Seller Dashboard, you can edit, pause (move to Draft), or delete any of your active listings. Once an item sells, the listing is automatically marked as Sold.
